Sun Prairie Rotary Club initiated the Sun Prairie's Service Above Self Awards in 2001.
Rotary’s motto, "Service above Self" exemplifies the humanitarian spirit of the organization’s members: strong fellowship and meaningful community service projects before themselves. Rotarians and Sun Prairie residents will nominate individuals in the community who exemplify these principles.
In addition to the “Service Above Self” motto, Rotary’s measuring sticks for all human relations is a Four-Way Test:
Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Rotary fosters the ideals of service and high ethical standards in personal, business and community life and takes every opportunity to promote these values in the Sun Prairie Community.
