Sun Prairie Rotary Club initiated the Sun Prairie's Service Above Self Awards in 2001. Criteria utilizes Rotary’s motto of "Service Above Self" and "The Four Way Test".
Rotary’s motto, "Service above Self" exemplifies the humanitarian spirit of the organization’s members. Strong fellowship among Rotarians and meaningful community and international service projects characterize Rotary worldwide. Rotarian’s nominate individuals in the community who exemplify the principles.
In addition to the “Service Above Self” motto, Rotary’s measuring sticks for all human relations is a Four-Way Test:
Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Rotary fosters the ideals of service and high ethical standards in personal, business and community life and takes every opportunity to promote these values in the Sun Prairie Community. We are proud to announce this year’s winners.
