Dear Fellow Rotarians - Just received the wonderful news that our very own Sue Halambeck has been selected as District Governor Nominee Designate.  She will serve as District Governor in 2020-21.  As someone who has worked along side Sue for the last 6 years on the Kindness Retreats, I know she will bring great honor, organization, execution, and excellence to this leadership position.  Congrats Sue!    Josh

Here is a note from DC Joe Ruskey regarding Sue's nomination.

I wanted to reach out to you to give you the exciting news that the District 6250 nominating committee has selected our District Governor Nominee Designate.  If approved at our district’s annual meeting in May,  she will follow DGN Edwin Bos.  We had interest from many candidates throughout the district.  After many interviews, deep discussion, and deep thought, the nomination committee has selected Sue Halambeck from the Sun Prairie Rotary Club.  Sue has been giving back through her job and Rotary for many years.  Before retiring with Kraft/Oscar Mayer, Sue travelled internationally working on food projects in developing countries.  She joined Rotary in 2004 to become more connected to the community.  She served as President in 2008/09.  Her passion has been working with the youth in many capacities.  She has worked tirelessly on the ethics initiative with the Youth Frontiers which ensures that every 4th grader in district goes through the curriculum covering ethics, anti bullying, and much more.  Sue also served on the Youth Frontiers Advisory Committee.  She has also served as a host mom for an inbound Exchange student from France among many other duties with her club.  At the district level, Sue has served in the role as District Grants Committee Chair for the past 3 years.  Through Rotary, she has also gone on multiple friendship exchanges.  Sue’s volunteer efforts and service extend beyond Rotary.  In addition to working with Youth Frontiers, Sue also has served on the YMCA Advisory board, Served on the Stewardship Subcommittee for TCM Downtown Madison, and has served as a Make a Wish granter.  I feel that her desire to serve others will make Sue an excellent addition to the deep tradition of District 6250 Governor’s belief of Service above Self and truly Making a Difference.

Please help me in Welcoming Sue as the District Governor Nominee Designate.  If there are any questions, please let me know.
