First Nations Intertribal Community of Sun Prairie

Tammy Yakoléstha̲Ɂ, an enrolled tribal member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and descendant of the Menominee Nation, serves as a Regional Board Member for the Wisconsin Indian Education Association (WIEA). She’s also President and CEO of Strengthening Connections, a national health-focused 501(c)3 organization.
With a background in Business, Healthcare, and Law, Tammy has extensive experience in business consulting, nonprofit management, and training facilitation, including Suicide Prevention and Support Group Leader Trainings.
She collaborates with organizations across the United States and Canada, advocating and educating about health utilizing Indigenous principles such as reciprocity, environmental sustainability, and respect for mitakuye oyasin ("all of our relations”.) She is currently a Tribal Consultant with Sun Prairie Area School District helping to modify the Amplify CKLA Curriculum.
As an Independent Contractor and Consultant, Tammy shares her knowledge to benefit diverse communities. Committed to education, she aims to earn a Doctorate degree in First Nations Education from UWGB's First Nations Program.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Tammy enjoys organizing holistic community gatherings, embracing her cultural heritage through ceremonies, teaching about Indigenous heritage, and spending quality time with her husband, their 6 children, and one grandson.
In 2024, Tammy danced at a powwow in her handmade jingle dress, for the very first time, continuing her journey of cultural expression and sharing her traditions.
