UW Madison Neonatology
Jan. 29, 2019
Professional InterestsDr. McAdams earned his medical degree in 1998 from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed a residency in pediatrics in 2002 at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California, and a fellowship in neonatology in 2005 at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He then served as an attending physician and the neonatology director of education at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan. In 2008, he joined the University of Washington faculty. Dr. McAdams has a deep interest in using evidence-based teamwork systems to optimize patient outcomes. “We want to deliver the best possible care to every newborn and family that we take care of,” he explained. “We do that through models and algorithms that are based on evidence-based medicine and well thought-out approaches, and by doing research that will inform our clinical practice.” His research has focused on understanding early epigenetic mechanisms that may alter long-term lung and brain development, and determining the potential neurodevelopmental impact of pain and sedation medicines used in the neonatal intensive care unit. What the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County is planning/doing in Sun Prairie
Apr. 16, 2019
MICHAEL JOHNSON, MBA – PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERMichael is the President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County and led the agency on an amazing journey of change – transforming the organization from a local children’s charity to a change agent for children and families while driving high standards of excellence in financial transparency, community engagement and governance; all with the goal of making a significant, measurable impact in the lives of children and their families. In eight years as their CEO, the Club made significant accomplishments: They developed a bold, five-year $15M plan that resulted in more than doubling the number of children and families being served in South Central Wisconsin, tripled the number of employees and grew their operating budget by 318 % during his tenure. Johnson left Boys & Girls Clubs in June of 2018 to become President & CEO of United Way of Greater Cincinnati and resigned after four months to return to his role with the Club. Michael earned a BA in Business Education from Chicago State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He also holds a certification in fundraising management from the Center of Philanthropy at Indiana University, a certification in human resource management from Cornell University and an Advanced Leadership Certification from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business |

Apr. 27, 2019 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Based upon input from our club members as to the suggested dates, I have determined that Sat., Nov 10th would work best for our Hwy Cleanup. Not only are there the fewest scheduling conflicts, but we know that by then the weeds and bugs will be knocked back by freezing temperatures. Please put this date on your calendars. I will circulate a sign up sheet later in October. Thank you very much. Andy |

Our annual picnic is scheduled for 5:00 PM the 26th of June at Orphan Park. This annual picnic is always a great time and is a family friendly event so please plan to bring your significant other and your entire family. We will have the pavilion (that Rotary built for Orphan park) The main entree is yet to be confirmed, but will provided by the club. We ask each of you to bring a dish to share. It can be a salad, a desert, something else you enjoy bringing to events like this. |
