57th Annual Pancake Feast!
As most of you know, as president - elect, I get the fabulous job of organizing our Club's 2017 Pancake Breakfast.  In order to make this major fundraiser a success we need your help!
We are looking to sell AD's for the Pancake Breakfast Event.  CLICK HERE for the AD Sell Sheet.  We also now have PayPal as an available option for payment of AD's.  To pay using PayPal, CLICK HERE.

Thank you for your support to Rotary and all of its worthy causes!

Academic Decathlon
The SPHS Academic Decathlon team is leaving for State competition on Wednesday, March 1st, and they have asked if the SP Rotary would consider setting up one more round of interviews.  The date we are looking at is Monday, February 27th.  We would use the same format as before:  3:20 – 5:00 p.m.
We could do this with a minimum of six people (2 per team/3 teams).  Any more than six would just make each Rotary team stronger, and it’s more fun when you have more volunteers.
Please contact Tom Hebl at (608) 837-4325 or at hebllaw@hebl.net

Grant Management Seminars

Under the provisions of the Rotary Foundation’s program, club’s desiring to participate in the grant program must be certified.  Part of that certification process is attendance at a Rotary Grant Management Seminar (GMS). District 6250 will offer three Grant Management Seminars:

The first two sessions will be identical in terms of the content that will be delivered.  The third session will be a refresher GMS for anyone that has attended a GMS in the last year.  Clubs need only have representation at one of the three sessions.  It is recommended that the club president-elect and foundation chair attend the GMS meeting.
At the GMS you will learn:
  • How to successfully manage a Rotary Foundation grant.
  • Foundation stewardship expectations
  • How to prepare clubs to implement the memorandum of understanding
  • How to qualify your club to receive Rotary Foundation grant funds.

Inbound Student for 2017-18
The Sun Prairie Rotary Foundation along with majority club support agreed to fund an inbound student for 2017-18.  Typically the Sun Prairie Rotary Club will host an inbound Rotary Youth Exchange Student every other year.  Toni Pabon and Steve Riggles announced to the club that they are looking to form a small committee to help with finding host families.  If you would like to be part of this committee contact Toni or Steve.
We must secure a 1st host family for the next student by the end of May.
Stay tuned for updates on our future student and host families!
Looking for a Host Family
We are looking for a 3rd host family to host our Rotary Youth Exchange Student from France.  If you know of anyone living in the Sun Prairie School District area who would be an awesome host family, please contact us.  The host family would have our student for 4 months, between April - July 2017.
Hosting can be a very rewarding experience for your family.  Check out this video on what other host parents have to say about it:  CLICK HERE

The Character Challenge
Write a kind note and send it to a friend, put it somewhere you look every day or give it to a stranger. When we're wrestling with doubts about who we are or if we matter, seeing a positive note can help remind us of our worth. Spread an encouraging message today!
