Dear Sun Prairie Rotarians - We did it! We served scrumptious pancakes, sausages, eggs, applesauce, coffee, juice, milk, and all the fixings to over 550 people today, and we had fun doing it too!
I was reminded this weekend just how generous our members are with their time, their talents, and their willingness to make a difference in our community and beyond. Just thinking about how everyone worked together to make the 2017 Pancake Feast a success fills me with pride.
Thank you to each of you for being you and doing your part!
Under the provisions of the Rotary Foundation’s program, club’s desiring to participate in the grant program must be certified. Part of that certification process is attendance at a Rotary Grant Management Seminar (GMS). District 6250 will offer three Grant Management Seminars:
The first two sessions will be identical in terms of the content that will be delivered. The third session will be a refresher GMS for anyone that has attended a GMS in the last year. Clubs need only have representation at one of the three sessions. It is recommended that the club president-elect and foundation chair attend the GMS meeting.
At the GMS you will learn:
How to successfully manage a Rotary Foundation grant.
Foundation stewardship expectations
How to prepare clubs to implement the memorandum of understanding
How to qualify your club to receive Rotary Foundation grant funds.
The Sun Prairie Rotary Foundation along with majority club support agreed to fund an inbound student for 2017-18. Typically the Sun Prairie Rotary Club will host an inbound Rotary Youth Exchange Student every other year. Toni Pabon and Steve Riggles announced to the club that they are looking to form a small committee to help with finding host families. If you would like to be part of this committee contact Toni or Steve.
We must secure a 1st host family for the next student by the end of May.
Stay tuned for updates on our future student and host families!
We are looking for a 3rd host family to host our Rotary Youth Exchange Student from France. If you know of anyone living in the Sun Prairie School District area who would be an awesome host family, please contact us. The host family would have our student for 4 months, between April - July 2017.
Hosting can be a very rewarding experience for your family. Check out this video on what other host parents have to say about it: CLICK HERE
While we may each receive appreciation differently, we all feel better when we feel valued. Show others just how much you care about them – spending quality time and giving authentic compliments are two great ways to get started!
